maternity styling: What to wear during a maternity photoshoot
When it comes to styling for maternity photos…
it’s best to wear something comfortable and flattering that accentuates your baby bump!
Flowing dresses and maxi skirts are popular choices. You can also add accessories such as statement jewelry, or a cozy cardigan to add a personal touch to your outfit. Additionally, consider choosing colors that complement your skin tone and the location of the photoshoot.
I in fact, have a variety of selected dresses in my client closet to chose from for the photoshoot. If you want to save money on the dress you may want to go with one of my options. Examples of dresses I own below.
With maternity dresses you can get very unique with the selection or do it tad more basic. Which ever option you choose, you want to make sure you feel good in it! I suggest not waiting til the last minute to try on your dress, lots change in the months leading up to our session, meaning your size of the bump!! But like I said, I own a variety of sizes dresses that fit xs-2x!
My favorite stores to buy those scroll stopping gowns are from include reclamation, ZeBuBeYou, free people, Baltic born, Amazon, and many Etsy stores. Rental companies such as the Kindred Soul dress rentals are also great alternatives to buying! I personally rent from that company all the time and they never disappoint, see picture below.
I also love putting a unique twists on a traditional maternity session – most recently I had a maternity session at the easton silk mill complex. Mom wore a tight fitting pearl dress and dad and toddler wore very cool styled casual wear! Don’t feel limited to just a dress either! There have been amazing maternity photos in Jeans!
Or even less is more! If you’re comfortable with flaunting your body nothing more beautiful than a bare baby bump covering all the privates with arms and leg angles.
